My outbound caller id now shows up as "unknown caller" when I call my contacts.  I must have done something when I was playing around w/the settings, but I don't know what I did.  Can anyone help?  Thx!

Did you make a *66 (or something like that) call before this unknow caller thing started to happen? I really forget the number you call to make your phone information unavailable to others when you call. But there is a "*" number you call to make that happen.

I think its *67 but this is a good thing to check, another thing is to check and make sure your contacts numbers are matching whats being dialed because caller id apps can be a little pickey at times.

try going to MENU>SETTINGS>CALL SETTINGS>VOICE PRIVACY and make sure it is unchecked

Not sure this will help, I have Voice Privacy on with my device and my caller id works fine.

I just learned that my Caller ID is not showing up when I call someone, and so I called Customer Service and was told that Caller ID is being changed by Verizon and all other carriers because of "privacy issues" and in the future will only show the City and State where the caller is located.

This is outregeous!  Users should have the option of choosing whether or not to display their Caller IDs, either by a setting on the phone, a check box on Verizon's features list, or by dialing 66 or 67 in front of a number being dialed.  To make no Caller ID the default for everyone is absurd!

I don't know why you're getting so mad about this, but it will still show as YOU if the person has you in their contacts. Or if it's a landline and they have you in there under something, it will still show. All this affects is people who don't have a name set for you, it will show your number, and a city and state.
