Several friends & family calling me on my Droid report being very irritated with what they hear ie a voice saying something like "wait until we connect to your party" & then a barrage of classical music (not simply "ringing" sounds). Their comment were "not your genre" & "unnerving." I called my Droid & it is very annoying. Is there a way to get rid of that announcement & music and just have a "normal" ring tone for the caller? Let me know if this is an issue for anyone else. Thanks in advance.

Try going to your VM and see if that's an option. If not, see if you mistakenly have an outgoing ringtone downloaded to your phone (MY verizon then my media)

Just tried calling my phone and didn't hear that. Maybe it's in your settings?

Anyone know where & if I can change it? Wasn't set up that way in my Verizon account before the upgrade to Droid.

It is actually called "ringback tone" (for non techie) You can cancel by calling Verizon wireless @ *611 from your cell & cancel the service. You can pick all kinds of songs & customize to certain callers. Too much work for me.
I looks as if it is something assigned during the Droid upgrade. Very annoying & gone now...just have a regular ring remains. Thanks!
