I'm having the same issue over the past few days. The notification says I have a voicemail dated 12-31-2004, but when I dial voicemail it says I have no new messages. I deactivated Google voicemail from the phone and left myself a new message on Verizon, and the notification updated to saying I had 2 new messages. Again, however, when I dialed voicemail it said I had no new messages, and the message I recently left for myself wasn't accessible. I turned Google voicemail back on, so I'm getting voice messages again, but the icon is still there saying I have 2 new messages. I've tried every suggestion, including the ones above, to get rid of it.
