Phone Contacts Question on the DX

Is it possible to add a contact from another group (example All Contacts) to the Phone Contacts group?  When I click on Add Contact, it brings a screen to enter all the info.  I don't see an option to select a personf from another group to add here.

Thanks!

I have provided information below that will help in transferring contacts from one group to the other. To move a contact from one group to another, I would recommend creating a contact group. I have provided the steps below:

  •
    1. Select the Applications menu
    2. Select Contacts
    3. Select the Menu Key
    4. Select Display group
    5. Create a new group (name the group anything you wish)
    6. Select Add (select the check mark next to the name you wish to add from the all contacts section).
    7. Select save when finished.

***If you wish to remove a created group, I have listed the instruction below:

  •
    1. Select the Applications menu
    2. Select Contacts
    3. Select the Menu Key
    4. Select Display group
    5. Select the created group
    6. Select the Menu Key
    7. Select More
    8. Delete the account

I hope this information was helpful. :smileyhappy:

Though this is great information to have, this doesn't answer my question.

My question was:  How do you add a contact from one contact group to the Phone Contacts. I don't want to add a new group.  I want to add more contacts to my Phone Contacts group.  I don't want to add a  new contact from scratch, I want to add one from another group.  The only entries in my Phone Contacts group (which I guess is system created, because I never created this group) are the Verizon Wireless # numbers, Technical Assistance, a Warranty phone number and myself.

Do you have an answer for this question?

I have tried everything on the phone to address your situation and I don't think there is a way to do that, for whatever reason.

What I can suggest is that you put whomever you want to display in your contacts in your "Favorites" list by tapping the contact that you want and touching the star next to their name.  Then to display your favorites list you just go to the list of contacts and tap the menu button, then tap display group and then tap favorites and then whenever you tap the contacts widget on the home screen, your favorites list will show up.

I can certainly do that ... and it sounds like a good solution. I can add the entries that are currently in the Phone Contacts to my Favorites Group. Now ... a few last questions:

  1. Is there a way to delete the Phone Contacts group?    I see I can delete the entries in the Phone Contacts, but can't seem to delete this group.
  2. Is this the group that is tied to Backup Assistant?
  3. Do all groups get uploaded to Backup Assistant?
