Is there any reason why my phone keeps turning off randomly and turning back on? It happened twice while my phone was charging.  Also, how can i increase my battery life?

To determine which app may be causing this issue, I recommend deleting each, one by one, to see when issue is resolved. If no improvement is noticed, you may contact us to determine any replacement options that may be available to you.

Thanks,

I think im having the same problem as you. My droid x will be running fine and all of a sudden reboot or just shutoff totally. This is the second phone from verizon that i have received in the last week, and both units have the exact same problem. My prior phone's problem was the speaker and 3.5mm headphone jack were crackling when a sound was trying to come from the phone. So i had to get a replacement from verizon...and that replacement phone is the phone that was having the reboot/turn off problem. So i got another one and the same problem is happening again right out of the box. I have heard people say its the apps, but how can it be the apps when the phone is right out of the box with no apps installed? I have also heard people say do a factory data reset, and i have done that and it didnt work either. My only thought is ether verizon keeps sending my defective phones, or the battery is bad. They send you a new phone, but not a new battery, and since this is the battery from my very first phone, i assume the issue might be that. Im going to call verizon and see what they say anyways, and maybe try a new battery...I will post again when i got more info.

Most issues like this is app related and also a number of users forget to disable the auto restore option on the device to avoid curtain apps and settings to be restored to the device as soon as you log into Google.  The option has a bad habit of restore problems files and I have learned that is the same probems carry over to a replacement device it is probally not the device.

As for Verizon sending you the sane device, this isnt possible because you recieve the replacement before the defective device is sent in and once it goes in it is services and placed back into pile is it passes all required test.

My guess is an app that was downloaded. I had a Droid 2 that did that and when I did a hard reset and didn't download any apps, it quit rebooting itself. I went through all my apps and finally figured out which one was causing the phone to restart and haven't had any problems sense. I have the Droid X now and it's a pretty awesome phone. It's stable, easy to use, has good sound and a sick screen. It's my first phone without a hardware keyboard, but the screen is so big that it doesn't matter. Awesome piece of technology!

Could you inform us what app that was that was causing you the trouble? I am having the same issue but cannot seem to figure out which app it is that is causing my phone to constantly reboot. Thanks!

There has been a number of post on other forums that reported that "Bump" app seems to cause this on some devices.
