I've finally got my Charge bluetooth to connect AND download the phone book through my Kia's sound system. Instead of stopping the Pbab Service, as others have suggested, I stopped theOPP Server service and then started my car. The phonebook transferred within 10 seconds and I was able to make voice activated calls by name. I was ready to return the Charge because I spend much too much time in my car to not have voice activated calling through my bluetooth system. I had also stopped the Pandora and Skype bluetooth as a precaution but I'm not sure I needed to.
Hope it works for others having this problem also.

Dear MaxBuck,
On any home screen, press the Menu button (left physical button) and then select Settings > Applications > Running services. Then scroll down to OPP and under that it will say OPPServerService. Select that and stop it.
