I recently updated my droid X about a week ago and now whenever i text or type in anything whenever i hit the space bar it closes the keyboard and i have to reopen it and it also lags and doesnt show what you're typing until after the whole word is typed.. ANy advice ?

Click and hold the left menu button and keyboard will come up... After that you should be straight.

alrite..but everytime i press the space bar the keyboard always disappears so i write 1 word hit the space it disappears and i constantly need to pull up the keyboard after every word...i have no idea what the problem is

The only reported (and it is widely reported on this forum if you do a search) is a factory reset. You can search this forum for the steps for that also. Make sure you backup your data first.

Go into settings and locate language and keyboard. In there you should see an option to clear learned words. Do that and it will work just fine. No reset required.
That depends on which keyboard you're using, and is not an option for all.

From what I see, it's only available on the stock Multi Touch Keyboard. It isn't on Swype, or other various keyboard apps that I have on mine personally.
