Phone message in notifications

Has anyone had this problem? I have the symbol for a phone message on my notification bar at the top of my phone and cant get rid of it. I also dont have any unanswered messages.

Place a fingertip on your notification bar and swipe downward. Press the Clear button when the next screen comes up. This will clear your toolbar of all notifications.
