When I take a picture with the camera or select a picture in the Gallery, select Share -> Messages then send the picture, the recipient of the message is never able to see the picture. The error they see is always "Unable to retrieve message contents."
When I create a new text message and attach the picture, this problem does not happen and the recipient of the message is able to see the picture.
Any ideas why the Share function doesn't work in this case?

when you "attach" it manually to a text message, the device knows it needs to resive or reformat the pic so that most end users will be able to download and view it. when you "share" directly from the gallery, it send the file exactly as it has been saved. so if you took it in high quality, the file size may be too large. or it may save as a file type that is unrecognizable on other devices. i believe that when attached to a text, it converts the file to a smaller and for generic file so that most devices can view it.
