My Droid X updated yesterday and ever since I have had problems with connecting to the internet via wifi. The phone shows that it connects to my wireless network at home, but it will not connect to the internet. If I am on wifi, I cannot use the web, access the Market, etc. I have to turn off the wifi and go on the internet via 3G.
What gives?
How do I fix this?

Just an update that I have resolved the problem and it appeared to be caused by a particular app.
I was hoping to avoid resetting my phone. I decided to uninstall a couple recent apps and I hit on the problem! The app is the personal finance app for "You Need a Budget" and it connects over my wifi network to the "You Need a Budget" software on my computer (it is not synced in the "cloud", only over my netweork). I had not synced my computer with the app for several days and it had a reminder that it needed to be synced. I am not sure if that may have had something to do with it. I am going to try re-installing it and seeing if the problem starts again just by having the app or if it is only when the app needs to be synced.
tesr65, I am sorry to hear that your problem persists. Do you have any kind of syncing going on between devices on your network like I did. Maybe that is it?

Just checking, but have you rebooted your wireless router?
Also, any of the other things that you have connected to your router, can they access the "net"?

I have tried restarting the router. I have tried restating my phone.
My computer connects just fine to the internet via wifi. The problem is the phone.

Have you tried "forgetting" your home WiFi connection and rescanning for it? Have you tried conencting to an Open WiFi hot spot, like Starbucks? Just to try to rule out the phone. WiFi has been rock-solid on mine after the GB update.

I tried having my phone forget the wifi network at home and then reentering the log-in information. No dice.
I tried the Starbucks wifi today. No dice.
I don't know what to do here.

Just an additional comment to provide more information. I think the Starbucks and I use different service providers. I have Verizon DSL and the wifi at Starbucks is called "attwifi," which I think is a good indicator they are probably sing AT&T. (I'm not sure if service provider could have been a potential impact this issue, but I am mentioning that just in case it matters.)

I hate to suggest it but this has cured many ills with the GB upgrade -- FACTORY RESET ... might be time to do that if nothing else is working for you.. Personally I (and many of us) have no issues with WiFi ..
If you can't dfind the instructions to do this and decide to go ahead, yell out..

I tried the factory reset. Still the same. Ordered a new phone to trade mine with, activated it today and guess what? Same thing on a different phone. Really at the end of my rope now!! I love my droid and I am not eligible for upgrade yet. Dont know what else to do.

Quick addition: The phone will also not connect to the internet when my printer is on. My printer is connected to the wifi network at home that I use to send print jobs from my computer to the printer.
For some reason, the phone is just not a sharer anymore.
It will work while my computer is connected to the wifi though.

No luck still. Tried deleting recent apps., turning off and unhooking printer. Rebooted router and did factory reset again. Same problem persists. Really an unhappy camper.
