I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I am not sure if there is a setting or not. Maybe the other Droid 2 will have a suggestion.

Guess what? They are now the same forum. Droid and Droid 2 have been tossed onto the same "has been" heap by the forum management. Seems like odd timing with the Gingerbread updates for the Droid 2 and Droid 2 Global just rolling out. Guess they feel that they have to make room for all the new smartphones rolling out in the near future.
Also, either I have not posted in a long time or the posting editor is now different as well.

They weren't yesterday. Change happens quick.

I'm also having problems with the upgrade. My phone now freezes often (it did not before). I reset it to the factory settings re-installed whatever applications I could. Same deal. Even just opening Settings causes it to lock up. Holding down the power won't shut it off. I have to remove the battery.
Not sure where to put this problem, but it is gingerbread upgrade based.

Hi Oyzani,
I understand your frustration! Let's start with some troubleshooting to see if we can help with a resolution.
Please check the animation settings and turn them off, as this steps proved to greatly improve the issue. The steps are below.
Turning off animations (Menu > Settings > Display > Animations - set to No Animations)
Please attempt these steps and post back with your results.
Thank you!
