My new Motorola Droid has the power bar varying between one and four bars in the same room. Web reception changes all the time between 3g and 1x with the phone in the same spot-on a desk. I am 1.1 miles from a tower and have never had a dropped call. Calls on the Droid do break up, just go quiet for part of the conversation. Calling other Verizon phones and other carriers. All previous phones did not have this breakup problem including the LG Dare that I upgraded. Any ideas? Sound quality is the best I have heard on a CDMA network when it does not break up.
