RAM (Memory) of Droid X

Guys,

 

I am DX user and recently found something weird.

 

Please look at this link. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/08/26/verizon-samsung-fascinate-training-documents-leaked/

On the table, it says the RAM of Droid X is 256MB! not 512MB!

 

Is this true? I feel like dumbed by Motorola because the specs previousley revealed in the Internet said it has 512MB RAM.

 

I am so confused.

Well, I can say for sure that it would most cerainly NOT be the first time that BGR was wrong with something that they listed or shown or stated.  Sometimes you have to look at the source of information.

 

I mean ......really.......what would Motorola have to gain by making false claims on this?

The document is full of mistakes, including the spelling of Fascinate in several places.

X does have 512MB, so don't worry.

According to this page, the Droid X has 8gigs of internal memory.

Talk about getting it wrong...

OP, do you still feel "dumbed" (I think you meant "duped") by Motorola?

The information that you have read for BGR Verizon Wireless Samsung Fascinate training documents leaked is incorrect.. The Droid X has 8GB Internal memory for emails,texts, and apps for this device..Sorry about the misinformed information about the Droid X....

However, I want to correct some part.

 

8GB of Internal memory is for 'storage', not RAM.

 

8GB internal memory is hard drive and RAM is memory in PC sense.

 

I read through the documents available in the Internet about the specs of Droids x and found it has 512MB of RAM.

However, all the documents were not official. Most of the smart phone makers tend to not reveal detailed specs.

 

The docs in the link seemed to be official from Verizon. That was why I wanted to double check with you guys.

 

I find the memory available left is around 210MB right after kill all the apps using system pannel, and I started to think the RAM of this phone might be 256MB. It might be because android system takes too much RAM or becasue android 2.1 is able to recognize 256MB only as RAM.

 

Anyway, I am waiting the upgrade to 2.2.
