Random reboots

I upgraded to the Droid x on the 15th of dec and the unit has rebooted at lease twice a day since that date.  There was a software update last week it did reduce the amount of reboots. It still reboots daily

How about trying to run in SAFE mode for a day.. Just to rule out any 3rd party apps.. Since you are getting reboots daily. If you can run for 1or 2 days w?o a reboot, then you can start eliminating apps. Just a thought.

It's possible someone at tech support is trying to service your Droid X phone.  Maybe they got the wrong phone.  They might be new at it.

Just throwing an idea out there.

I go along with Cody. Sounds to me like you have an apps or two that are conflicting and causing the reboots. This is a little work, but better than a factory reset. Remove all the apps you have downloaded. See if your phone still reboots itself. If it does not, put the apps back on one at a time. If you install a certain apps and the phone starts to reboot, than you know what is causing it, and just uninstall that apps. As far as a tech trying to service your phone without you knowing about it...a tad far fetched.

Congrats on joining the Droid X team!  I had a pretty serious rebooting problem when I first got my Droid X in mid-November - 20 to 30 reboots a day.  I took it back to the store and they couldn't find out what was wrong, so I got a replacement phone.  Now, it still tends to reboot randomly, but only once every couple days, and usually when I'm doing a lot of things with it.  Thankfully, the reboot takes only a minute, so it's not a problem.

In addition to the apps (particularly third-party apps), I can't help but agree with one of the fine folks here who suggested I use only Motorola OEM chargers.  Initially, I was using my old BB charger (well, it's micro USB too), but I just think it might have screwed up something with the battery or something.  Try only a Moto OEM charger.

I'm still fairly new to Motorola and Android, but I seriously doubt someone is "remoting" in to your phone by accident (or even on purpose.)
