Try powering down, removing the battery for 30 sec, then reinstall.

That is not true. An on-screen button was added in addition. If you have a button remap app on your phone they have been known to cause issues with the camera button.

That is just that, a rumor because the button still works as designed, are you making sure you press it all the way down because its a two stage button, if you only press it part the way down it focus only.
crb79 makes a good point also, if you remap button with a app can cause this bug.

Again, it was NOT "turned off" or disabled with the update so your temper tantrum is pointless and absurd.
If you have downloaded an App that remaps your keys, THAT's the problem. Otherwise the button just stopped working.

Have you tried putting the phone into SAFE MODE and seeing if it magically works again? That might help rule out an APP that you might have installed causing the issue. But as others pointed out, the last s/w update did NOT do this to your phone.
to get into SAFE MODE:
- power down the phone.
- press & HOLD the Menu button, press Power up. Continue to hold Menu button while it comes up.
- phone will eventually say "SAFE MODE" in lower left corner. Release the menu button.
TEST your red Button ... if it is still not working, you likely have some hardware problem. Time to attempt a full reset of the phone or swap it for another one. (1 year warranty gets you a refurb).
If the Button is working in SAFE MODE, time to start uninstalling APPS you installed.
Question: did you install the app called "NO LOCK" ?? I had exactly the same issue on my phone after installing it. After hours of trouble shooting, I discovered that APP to be my problem and after uninstalling, the button worked as designed.

Like it was said, the button was not turned of by any updates, your problem is most likely software related.. If it is really bothering you and want to isolate the issue just do a hard reset and take everything out of equation. Safe mode option may work but there is also a chance if a app changed this that that it could have override the program settings that can be retained in safe mode, I have ran into this before and just want to let you know Safe Mode may or may not guarantee trouble solution.

That is strange that No Lock causes you issues when I haven't had any issuers using it, shows that the difference in the combination of software on a device does make a difference..

I agree Wildman ... it was very strange. I installed NO LOCK based on several peeps, including you, recommending it.. But I know for a fact that after installing, I suddenly had that camera button issue ... It drive me nuts for about 2 weeks until I started just stopping runnins APPS (using System Panel) and retesting. Immediately after stopping NO LOCK, my button suddently started working again. I restarted the APP, and the button stopped working ... I then just uninstalld the NO LOCK app. PS, and this was all reverting back to the stock CAMERA APP.
edit: PS -- I wanted to add that running in SAFE MODE is how I figured out that an APP was causing the problem. When I ran in SAFE MODE, the camera button actually worked! But your point well-taken. And if SAFE MODE doesn't reveal anything, the OP needs to just start removing APPS, or bite the bullet and do the RESET procedure.
Good luck.

james79719, I am sorry your red camera button does not work any longer. I reviewed any known issues reported about the Motorola Druid X and was unable to locate this as a known problem. This functionality should still be listed on your device as an option to take pictures and videos.
The suggestions given by the community are the best recommended steps to attempt in resolving your issue. If you continue to have problems with the red camera button, we can trouble shoot over the phone and try to assist with some additional steps that may help with fixing this issue.
