Remove Facebook Contacts from Phone Contact List

When I first set up my phone I told it to sync to my facebook account. I play games on facebook and have over 2,500 friends and now I have that many contacts on my phone. HELP!! How do I remove them? I went into my settings on Facebook and removed gmail from the Linked Accounts, but all the contacts are still on my phone.

Settings -> Accounts

 

Select Facebook

 

Remove account button.
