Ringtone and volume issues --it's ttime to be heard
As they say speak now or forever hold your piece
Apparently this issue is not being addressed because Verzion is not getting enough complaints
well start complaining. this needs to be fixed or the X will become useless as a phone.

this is an old story. several people already worked hard to organize a campaign to raise consciousness about this issue amongst Verizon and Motorola tech support. After weeks, both Verizon and Motorola tech support officially acknowledged the issue. Both of them had official statements to read (word for word) about how this is a known issue that will be fixed in a future system update. If they have changed their story and are now pretending as if there is no known problem - after many of the affected users passed their 30 day return window, then I will lose a great deal of respect for Verizon. Check out each of the posts/threads at the link below. If they do not work, just do a similar google search for the forum and thread name and you will find the right url/web address. (There are also newspaper stories, website reports, and so on regarding the Droid X low volume speaker problem. Here is a link to a post with a bunch of relevant links (I recommend adding a reply to each of those threads and encouraging everyone who has this problem to call Verizon tech support, follow their routine trouble shooting procedure, and report that the problem persists - if it does). I provide more detailed instructions on what needs to be done in posts here and on droidforums.net. Just do some searches for what to do about / how to make progress on the Droid X low volume speaker problem. This is all described in my previous posts here and on other forums):

this is not repetitive. here are two more links not covered in the previous reply. to verizon: please do not delete this reply or the one before it. i did not bring this issue up again. someone else did. the fact that so many people keep bringing this issue up seems to suggest some things. one thing it suggests is that people want to talk more about the issue. is it not okay to talk more about an issue that forum users want to talk about, even if other users have talked about it before?

Its true! The speaker is muffled and hard to hear. I used to take my DO out on the patio and listen to pandora. Now I can hear anything. It terrible and the speaker to listen has a static sound to it.
I sure hope something is done about it because everything else is great!

The fix is coming in 2.2.
