Ringtones gone

Have a new DroidX. When I first got it, ringtones worked fine. I added contacts and groups and tried to set tones for different groups. when phone rang, I would get voice saying "Call from _____________" over and over. I changed all tones back to the one which is chosen as default but I still get the same voice and no tone. I have un checked Dbl Tap and Smart Profile and rebooted the phone several times but nothing changes. All tones are set to "Transmission'.

Any ideas how to get ringtones back?

Uncheck Settings / Call Settings / Caller ID Readout / Ring ONLY
