Have you tried to drag & drop the ringtones directly into the memory card? Once you have mounted the phone...go to start-->my computer-->removable storage-->Select your phone-->try to drag and drop ringtones into the desired location
You need a 3rd party app to do this....ringdroid I think will do this...you clip the file and then save as ringtone...now it is saved in your ringtone folder...then you just have to assign and save changes and you are all set...hope that helped.
Ya need to place them on your SD Card.
Then go to Music. Turn your songs into a list. At the bottom is of the list is "Unknown Artist". Choose the ringtone you want. While playing hit menu and then choose, "Assign Ringtones"
