Just got a Droid X Jan. 3rd...was on my second by Jan 4th...due to faulty speaker.  Now following powering down my phone and restarting my phone ...my SD card is "blank" or has "unsupported file system".  I have noticed on other forums that other people are having the same problem...but nobody has come up with an answer yet.

Verizon rep told me to try a Sandisk recovery pro tool....$40 and he's not sure it will work...says he's never heard of this happening...told him to go online and brace himself!   Any ideas folks?

Have you tried removing card and placing in pc? I have came to conclusion that this issue usually comes from when Windows disk check card when device been mounted as mass storage. I will not allow Wiondows to check card any longer.

The Verizon rep placed it in his PC at the store and it came up blank as well...thats when he recommended the rescue pro, but wasn't sure it would work for a phone.

Okay...on the phone with customer support for quite a while.  This is a problem that happens periodically...they don't seem to know why, but they let Motorola know about it as far back as August with no solution yet.  The customer rep seemed to think that a virus of some sort may have been imported in to Droid from my old phone when contacts and files were transferred at purchase.  After it powered down and updated the imported files (photos) the SD card took a dump....this is his guess.  His advice was to  go back to Verizon store and have them strip it down to "factory" and start over...this time only transferring contacts and not photo files.

So back to the Verizon store I went...feel like Norm from Cheers because everyone knows my name now!  The guy who helped me was great...he had already replaced my first Droid X within hours of purchase due to blown speaker.  He replaced SD card with new one...transferred contacts only...and low and behold the phone recognized the SD card.  He said if it happens again I'll be on Droid X number 3!...in as many weeks!

Now I am to get back with Customer support and they will walk me through transferring my photos via "media manager" which should get them from point A to Droid X cleanly.   Will update if no love.  Must say customer support on phone and at store has been good...provided you get the right person.
