that's why I invest in the screen protectors. I doubt insurance will cover something that small, if it's that small.
If it's a small superficial scratch, you may be able to buff it out with a scratch remover. I found one on Amazon that helped with a scratch I had on my former Blackberry. I don't know if insurance covers a scratch to the screen unless it really hinders you reading it, etc. And also remember you will have to pay a deductible.
Ditto ... screen protectors - I've always had them on my LG DARE and they have saved my screen big time from accidental nicking by my car keys or whatever... Cheap investment.
There might be some youtube videos available that you can see how people remove scratches on their touch screen phone. Insurance would cover the phone for you yes
