Screen disabled. Won't respond to touch.

My Incredible phone screen has completely frozen up. The phone still rings when incoming calls come in, but does not appear to accept text messages. Even when I slide up to access the QWERTY keyboard, the screen still will not unlock. I have tried taking out battery and rebooting. Can I reset the phone somehow or will it require me to send it away?
