Screen goes blank when I make a call

When I make a phone call the screen goes blank at will not come back until person on other end hangs up.Most times I can deal with this,problem is most noticable when calling voice mail and other automated systems.With the screen blank I can't delete messages or use any functions that require the keyboard.Am I missing something?

Sounds like a problem with your screen timing out. Try going to your homescreen, then pressing menu> settings> call settings, then check keep screen awake. This should stop your screen from timing out so quickly.
