Searching for GPS

Trying out the google navigation. When I click on maps, it just stays on searching for gps. Also the location pointer is half mile from my house. And I calibrated the compass. Any ideas?

Are you outside and away from building? It helps especially for the first time acquiring the gps.

For future thought.

GPS has to have line of sight to satellites... it does not work indoors, parking ramps (unless you at the roof level), and sometimes doesn't work well with tall buildings surrounding your location

Goggle Navigation when it first comes on and before it acquires the satellites, it tries to guess where you are at by which tower that you are hitting, and it can be off.

if during getting your route, if it takes a long time before showing the map, sometimes getting out of navigation, turning off GPS, wait a few seconds, turn on GPS, and bring up navigation again will bring up the route...... its happens to me very infrequently, but it has happened a couple of times over the past couple of months.

Navigation will suck a battery dry. If you are going to use the navigation feature a lot, you might want to invest in the car dock. You can hook up to the cigarette lighter and not worry about the battery going dead.
