Hello,
About 2 - weeks ago I purchased the Droid2 and I am too concerned about security issues to setup a gmail account. I am considering returning it and getting a Blackberry. Do I sound rational to you?
Thursday my son setup his gmail account on my Droid2 so yesterday I erased it. Consequently I had to reformat the phone to factory settings. When I did so I discovered that Google GPS was tracking my every move on the prior phone settings and they wanted to continue to do so. It is stuff like this that scares me.
Are there security measures that I can take that will guarantee 100% security, or at least 75%?
Thanks for your input.

Even on your PC search engines and other sites have a lot of info about you. The cookies provide them with information of things of interest to you, they know where you are just based on your IP address.
Go to a pizza website, then go to any site with ads, you will see an ad for that pizza place.
Sure you can disable cookies, but some websites require them just to put items in your shopping cart.
This is the age of technology and the end of privacy as we once knew it.

Pool_Shark thank you for the reply.
All of the cookies on my computer get erased whenever I close my browser.
There has got to be a solution to this problem. Why are we acting like a bunch of limas running off of a cliff? China and Russia will eat our lunch if we do not take precautionary measures. If we do nothing and wait, then the next 911 will be cyber related and the Feds probably already have a cyber version of the patriot act written up waiting to sign into law. They had the patriot act written years before 911. If we have a major cyber crisis there goes our IT economy.
