I give up trying...I called my voicemail (used to be able set rings there) and can't change it there. No place to change on phone, (because it's the carrier) - so do I have to call Verizon directly and ask to change the amount of rings prior to voice mail pick-up.
Well I figured it out, go to your contact, and set the feature to UN/set "goes directly to voicemail". (to disable).
Put here in case someone else has a problem with this.
