Setting up bluetooth

I am trying to setup my bluetooth on my FOrd with the Droid X.  Everytime I try to key in the code number into the Droid from the Ford sync process, the phone accepts 2 digits and quits.  How do I get the phone to sync with the bluetooth.

To make sure that your phone is compatible with the Bluetooth device in your Ford, please go to the following website and selectthe PDF file.

Ok, care to give more information on what you mean by quit, does the app close, reboot or exit pairing mode?  More information may help...

I just swtiched to verizon and tried to set up my phone with my Ford Sync.  It pairs up and then disconnects immediately.  I just have a simple Samsung.  Everything was working fine before I switched service.  I tried deleting all devices to start over, even reset factory settings.  When I have bluetooth enabled and get in the car, the phone makes the connection with sync and then disconnects.

Welcome to the forum ..  probably would have been better to start a new thread rather than this one that was marked as solved. But anyway, let's see if we can help you ...

We probably need a bit more info.  I assume you were able to activate Bluetooth on your DROID X ? But you're saying that when you turn on your "BlueAnt" (whatever that is) you're not seeing it "PAIR" with your DROID X ???

Do you have your manual for your BlueAnt device?  There should be a procedure to UNPAIR it and  then PAIR it again ... Some even have a 4 digit Code that you must enter on the initial pairing -- usually "0000" ... did you see that prompt on the DX during the Pairing process?  Bluetooth has been pretty simple & reliab;e for me on my DX ... I have the MotoRockr S505  headset and it works just fine.  Let us know ...  good luck.

jovajill,

Hi there!

I would like to offer assistance! Are you having trouble actually turning 'ON' the bluetooth on the phone. When you go into Settings>Wireless & Networks, is the checkbox for Bluetooth greyed out? Please advise in more detail the steps you take to set up the pairing. Below I've included a link to our pairing guide to better help as well.

Thank you!
