Shuts off randomly -- won't turn back on without the charger.

My Charge has been shutting off at random, generally while I'm texting, because I don't even bother with phone calls anymore. It has to be plugged in all the time in order to stay on consistently. As I've looked around...some have said this is a battery issue, some say it's the phone...I don't really care what the problem is, I just want to fix it. Help help help.

Pulvy1609, I definitely want to make sure your issue is resolved. How often does this happen with your phone? When you turn it back on, is the battery still charged? Do you have any battery saver or task killer apps installed? If so, I recommend uninstalling as those have been known to cause issues with phones.

Hi, Marquia.  I'm not the OP, but I seem to be having the exact same problem.  I'll answer questions from my perspective and OP can chime in with more/different detail if possible.

1.  This happens with my phone at least once per day.  It would probably happen more often, except that I've gotten in the habit of only using it when plugged in if at all possible.  I originally thought it was only happening when the battery was below ~50%, but it just happened a few minutes ago and that wasn't the case.

2.  When I plug it back in and turn it back on, the battery is still charged.  Just did it a minute ago and it was at 66% when I turned it back on.  Note that I can't turn it back on at all if it's not plugged in.

3.  I don't have any battery saver or task killer apps installed.  In fact, I've uninstalled almost everything I can with no visible results.

Extra info: this happens when I'm using voice, SMS, or data--can't find any pattern whatsoever.  I don't recall it happening at home, which is pretty much the only place I use WiFi rather than 3G/4G, but that may be because I rarely use it at home without it being plugged in.  Please help!

When your battery is fully charged it is at 3.7 Volts and your phone says that it's fully charged.  But if when you turn it on and  use your phone the battery almost immediately it shuts off your phone then your battery has failed.  What happened is that it has virtually no AMPS (power) even though it is at 3.7 volts.

Your best recourse is to buy a new battery. 

Don't beat yourself up complaining or blaming the phone, just get a new battery.  Remember, life is short, consider eating desert first!

LOL, actually really glad you replied.  I got the new battery a few days ago, and the problem seems to be completely resolved.  Anyone else reading this, before ordering the new battery, you *might* try unmounting and then physically removing your SD card to see if that fixes it also.  According to stuff I found on other forums, sometimes those either get too full and/or just get physically corrupted.  Thanks again JerryF!
