I just installed the most recent updates to my Droid X. Many things have changed & I'm still trying to figure them out. MOST IRRITATING is the constant alert/music with every email being received. This is happening throughout the day and all night long. I haven't had any success in turning the alerts off. Before the update, I only received a text alert which was great! HOW DO I TURN OFF THE EMAIL ALERT/SOUND? I need some uninterrupted sleep!
Email alerts are managed in the email APP that you are using. Which email APP do you have? I use YAHOO - there is an option in Yahoo Email / Email SETTINGS / Notifications - change Select Ringtone to "SILENT" ...
I turned my email alerts to silent several months ago because I kept getting emails at 3am. Go to your email client, then settings and adjust the notification tone from there.
