In the wee hours of the morning, it's being said. I can't get it yet, though. Do updates get released regionally or something?

I got my update just a few minutes ago. Everything seems to work fine except for when I lock the screen. I don't like how before it would just slowly become black. Now it like flashes like a white line. I may consider removing this update by totally wiping my phone. (I just got it Thursday so there isn't much I can loose) I really really don't like how it does that on the lock screen/falling asleep. And I have tried restarting it and taking the battery out. My phone also still freezes sometimes and I have to lock it and then unlock it again to make it work...
I will be taking to Verizon soon enough if that fix doesn't happen.. As it might just be my phone?..

I'm not sure I know exactly what you mean when you say "totally wiping" your phone, but I don't think that once an OS update is installed, it can be removed. Even a "factory reset" will not remove updates to the OS.
Let us know how it works out for you....

"Removing this update" is a violation of this forum and cannot be discussed here.
As far as your locking screen issue, I haven't gotten the update yet, but I'll give my feedback when I do

Once an update comes in, you cannot put it back to what was there prior to the OS update. A hard reset will just put it back to the most recent OS update version

The screen turning off that looks like an old TV set turning off, is part of the update.
I thought is was very cool.

The solution to the "CRT screen lock" animation problem is just to go into settings and turn off all animations. No need to void your warrenty or get in trouble with VZ

I recently took the update and now it seems I cannot carry my phone in my 'Universal Leather Pouch' without finding my phone constantly getting turned on. When I notice it on it seems to have the car dock screen but taking it out of the pouch it exits that screen rather quickly so I can't be sure. This never happened prior to this latest update (2.3.4). It's very frustrating since it certainly drains battery faster since it keeps turning the display on.
Not sure what to do but hopefully there will be another update to fix this problem?

I would try putting your phone in the pouch with the wcreen facing the other way. It sounds like the magnetic latch is possibly activating the desk/car dock screen.
Just a guess on my part though.....

Hi Dirk, That is actually a good guess. When I first got the Droid X2 I found very quickly that the screen had to facing the outside of the pouch such that the screen was next to the magnet due to similar issues. That resolved all issues with using the pouch until this latest update. I would image that turning my phone back around such that the battery is again next to the magnet will produce undesirable effects but it's worth a shot.

You would really wipe your otherwise working phone over the lockscreen?

All of this is great. Except I didn't get the update yet. I'm new to the Android ecosystem so I would like to know if the update gets rolled out to everyone at a time or incrementally to some locations at a time? Because I am wondering if I should call Verizon and find out why I didn't get the update yet.
And btw, who else didn't get the update yet?
