Softkey backlighting suddenly stopped working...

Hi there,
I did a search for this problem - not only within the forum, but also everywhere else - and nothing has come up.
Today, all of a sudden, the backlighting on my softkeys on the screen (the ones that mean Home, Menu, Back and Search) stopped being lit up. I have been using my phone throughout the morning, and after having the screen off for awhile, I turned it nd back on with the on/off switch and noticed that the keys were not lit up. I tried looking into lighting settings on the phone, but nothing I could find looked relevent. I tried restarting the phone, and powering it down completely and back up again, but the issue is still there. When I rotate the phone and it is in landscape mode, the keys are lit up (rotated, like they should be). When I turn it back, they're gone.
Anyone have any ideas? Seems like a device glitch. Unless a solution comes fast or it fixes itself, I intend to bring the phone into a Verizon retail store very soon for support. (

I understand how important it is for your device to be functioning properly. I have checked my resources and I am not showing what you describe about the Backlight to be a known issue with the Incredible 2 device.
Have you already gone to the store, as your posting mentions? Did you follow the steps provided by Wildman? (BTW, thank you Wildman!) If so, did you have success with them?
Please let us know how things are working for you, and the outcome.
