I had recently called Verizon about my Droid X not recognizing my computer. I found out what I was doing wrong.
- Make sure you download the right driver for the Droid X. You can run a google search for your phone and the driver. To be certain, look for the driver from your manufacturer website.
- The driver must be compatible with your version of Windows (32-bit or 64-bit).
- Make sure you use the USB cord that comes with the phone. If you use an incompatible USB cord, the computer may not recognize your phone!
- Also make sure that your phone is unlocked and that it is in USB mode.
- You can change to USB mode by going to Settings and then Applications and then Development.
