Sound on the Droid 2

Does anyone know if and how the sound can be turned off when powering on the phone? I have to go to some remote place in the house so I don't wake eveyone else up when I turn on my phone in the morning. My other phones always gave the option of putting it on silence on power up and power down but not this phone----unless someone has an answer. Thanks! :smileyhappy:

Thank you for your inquiry. Adding to what was stated in similar posts, perhaps you can try lowering the volume to where nothing is heard on your Droid two device. The steps are provided below. The lowering all the way down on the phone volume can try to prevent the noise issue when you power on the device. The notification noise during a power cycle of the device cannot be disabled as it is powering up. This is because power cycling does a soft reset to initialize the basics functions to make things work okay on the phone.

To adjust the volume volume controls:

1. From the main screen, touch menu tab

2. Touch Settings

3. Touch Sound

Here is a link that can also assist with other functions on your device: http://support.vzw.com/clc/devices/index.html?p=5429&m=
