Stuck at 2.0.1?

So, I think I may have messed up something when trying to install a Live Wallpaper which I couldn't get to work and then none of my live wallpapers would work so, I found a site that said you could revert your phone back to stock.  I downloaded the update.zip and applied it to the phone - which took it back to 2.0.1 - I then thought that the phone would automatically pick up the OTA update to 2.1 but that hasn't happened.

I tried to see if the VZN support page had the 2.1 software that I could try to download but, they only have information on 2.2 (guess that's because they're probably rolling that out soon).  Is there a way to get the official 2.1 software or at this point should I just wait to see if the 2.2 OTA gets pushed to my phone?

Any help/advice/guidance would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hi Phig -

My guess would be that once the 2.2 updates start rolling out that you would be automatically upgraded, but I'm not actually sure of that. I believe that 2.1 was a "mandatory" update, and as such, the 2.2. update may not look for 2.0.1's to update (depends on how they've written it).

If you want to "manually" update to 2.1, you should be able to follow the directions provided at http://www.mobilecrunch.com/2010/03/31/how-to-manually-update-your-verizon-droid-to-android-2-1/ (I didn't check to see if the download is still there, but I assume it is), otherwise 2.2. is supposed to start rolling out to Droid owners this week if you would rather wait and see.

You will have to manually upgrade. There is a link in these post for it. Reverting software disables auto updates.
