I see many comments about 2.2 update issues - I lost connectivity to corporate e-mail myself and my battery drains more quickly now.
Is there some central location that explains the problems with the 2.2 update on the original Motorola DROID? I'd just like to know if these new oddities are recognized and will be addressed.
Thanks

But as for a list you can add just about everything, because there is just about one complaint atleast for any one option on the phone.

In order to classify something as a bonafide "bug" I would think it would have to be something reproducible that affects everybody. I haven't seen a single issue with 2.2. My Droid is more stable and faster, especially within the browser and GPS apps, and my battery life actually improved.
Being as the phones themselves are physical identical, it seems these issues people are reporting are probably the result of an installed app.

That's my conclusion also. I reverted back to stock 2.0.1 and updated to the official FRG01B (more info in the Droid Update Issues thread) and haven't run into any problems after about 12 hrs. My guess is it's app related, a corrupt download/install, or possibly user data causing the issue.

A lot of people keep saying " It;s an app that keeps messing the phone up" If it's an app, then explain to me why after my factory data reset and using a gmail that has no apps attached to it , Does my phone still freeze? Why do I have to pull the battery 10 times a day? Why does my camera take half pictures? Why when I plug my phone to charge on a car charger does the phone power cycle? Why when I dim the screen does the phone not wanna come back up? Why when the phone is syncing to gmail does the phone freeze?
It's not a freaking app......it's the 2.2 update...
If your phone is not having issues, You just one of the fortunate people.
STOP TELLING ME IT'S AN APP.

Well then wouldn't the only other possibility be that maybe your phone is defective?
Have you taken it to Verizon to have them look at it?

I'll be happy if is an offending application - please tell me which one needs to be removed. I'm just looking for solutions that don't involve me needing to rummage around in the Android Operating system.
Considering the volume of posts, it would be nice if Verizon could provide some helpful suggestions. If this site exist, please point me to it.

The corporate email thing is a known issue. Make sure the exchange server has a valid certificate as that's been causing a lot of the problems. As for battery life, check Battery Use under About Phone in settings.

Thanks for the help. Under battery use, I see that e-mail is 44% of the drain. As I said previously, I lost wireless capability. E-mail retrieval over wireless was fast. Often I may be in a part of my building where I do not have 3G service. Would this cause the e-mail and calendar application to synch more slowly and cause excessive drain on the battery? Any thoughts on this combination of causes is appreciated.

Battery usage of 44% is huge. I think the default check interval is 5 minutes but I changed mine to one hour soon after getting the phone. If you don't have 3G or WiFi, the phone is going to poll for the email server until it gives up. That would account for the large usage. You can manually poll for new messages at any time no matter what the interval is set for.

Thanks. Changed polling to 1 hour. Working with our IT on the WiFi issue. Hit all the DROID users at our company. Might not be correctable on our end. Hope Verizon deals with this soon.

I just ran into a bug that I believe someone ran into before.
YouTube videos were not playing for me earlier today and it was a bit frustrating for me until I decided to perform the ever-popular battery pull. After I turned the phone back on, YouTube works like a charm.
Possible fix for anyone that runs into the same issue.
