I am looking at purchasing a Droid 2 after having a Motorola Q for a long time. I love my current phone for the ease of transferring my schedules from Outlook to this phone easily - without having to transfer everything to a Gmail calendar first. Has anyone had any success with this?

You are talking about an Outlook client on your PC and not an Exchange server correct?
Most everyone uses those names interchangeably and end up giving out the incorrect information.
Some people use companionlink. I've read it has some problems though, and since it costs $40, I won't get it unless it works right every time.
There is a $14 app named gsyncit that will automatically sync between Outlook and Google calendar, and there is another program called missing sync, not sure how that one works.

I currently have a Motorola Q and am able to connect my phone via USB cable & sync my calendar with my two computers seemlessly. This is what I would like to be able to do with my next phone as well. I don't want to have to go thru five steps to accomplish it.

Go to google, search for "sync google calendar with Outlook". They have an application for it. I just installed it today. Then go to your Droid 2 under "My Accounts" Your Google acct will be one of them. Choose it. Mine then shows 3 choices : sync contacts, sync mail and sync calendar. You can choose one or all 3. Its still a few steps, but doesn take long. Hope that helps.
