Terrible signal lately!!

So around my home I've had TERRIBLE signal, usually in the -100 to -103db range which is unacceptable!! I called about a week ago and was told there was "tower work" and that it was only going to last "6 hours at most" the woman said she would call me back but never did, the signal issue is STILL broken and I can't find any help!!!

When was the last time you updated the phone's roaming list or reprogrammed it to the Verizon Wireless network?  Dial *228, option 1 and 2.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

I did it before making this post, and have done it 3x each of program phone and update roaming and no change since it's a tower issue in the area.

I wish they would fix the issue, working on towers for a week or so longer with so much down time is not a good company practice.

Okay, thanks for the update.  It helps to know what troubleshooting you have done, so we don't have to ask.

You posted this as a discussion and didn't mark it as a question.  I have noticed the VZW reps only respond to unanswered questions.  It will be unlikely they will reply.

I've got you beat.  How about no service for the last three days at my home.  We were serviced by a Alltel tower that was included in a verizon contract but it ended sunday the 23rd.  No notice by verizon about having our service cut  Customer service said it would take 3-5 days to get back to us.  what is this crap.  No emergency phone and we depend on our phones for work.  And to top it off Verizon called to conduct an interview on their service as I was driving home and expected me to text and drive.

That sucks, I'm willing to bet the 'tower work' near me is just an excuse for an issue like yours.

I have been with Verizon for 20+ years and never had an issue - always got 4-5 bars regardless of the phone I had - I now have the Galaxy S3 and withn the past month have been experiencing 1-3 bars - I could have been in an elevator going to the 40th floor and have 5 bars and now I'm actually dropping calls in the middle of a damn CVS - really?  Well I come to find out (after they tried to blame my phone or tried to blame that I keep my phone too close to my computer) that it is a signal issue with the Verizon towers.  They are revamping their cell service and had to (by FCC regulations) sell off aboug 65+/- towers to AT&T to gain more revenue to continue their overhaul so in the meantime the Verizon Wireless customers are now suffering the signal issues.  I have been fighting with them constantly and to no avail am I getting any compension for this inconvenience.  I pay them a lot of money a month for sub-par service.  Very piss poor Customer Service in my book and I intend on taking it as high up as I can go.  Otherwise, just let me out of my contract without penalty and I'll go to AT&T.  Verizon is the most expensive carrier and I don't mind spending a little more per month if I'm going to get the service I am paying for.  I'll be damned if I'm going to start walking a wall of windows in my office or go outside in the cold just so I can get a strong signal.
