It looks like this could be an issue all over, but I figured I would add my two cents. I have not been able to recieve text messages since Friday, 3/30. People can recieve texts from me. I tried to update roaming, but recieved an error message from that stating it could not be done and that I needed to call service from a LAN line.I just tried rebooting by removing the battery, and that did not help.
It seems there is an issue with Verizon. In January, while traveling in Ohio, I could make calls out, but when people called in to my phone, they could not hear me. I took it to a store, and was told I would e contacted, but no one ever called to tell me they had addressed the problem.
Have you tried reprogramming the phone to the Verizon Wireless network (Dial *228, option 1) instead of just updating the roaming list (PRL)? Is it possible that you can located in an area that doesn't have any native Verizon Cell Towers?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
Hello Divorceki,
I would like to make sure your messages are working properly. Has your messaging capabilities been restored at this time? What is the exact model of your phone? Where are you located? Were you able to complete the *228 option 1 update as Ann154 suggested? I am confident we can work together to ensure your service remains consistent. I will be eagerly awaiting your response.
Thank You,
