Text Messaging - Lock?

On my old phone, EnvyTouch I could lock a text message so that it could not be deleted. I can't seem to find the same option on my Motorola Droid 2. Can someone please tell me if it is available?

I don't think the default app can lock messages. I use handcent sms, it has that ability.

You can try a long press on the message and a list of options should display including "lock message".
