I am trying to send a text message to someone, they arent getting it. I did some digging and found that *82 was being added before the number, and I know this doesnt work. *82 unblocks caller id blocking. So i deleted the contact and added the person back in without the *82, then tried sending a message with reports on. I viewed the details of the message and in the to it has the number again with the *82, how do I get rid of this *82?

The same thing happened to me. I went to my Gmail account > Contacts> once there click on the person you are having problems with. If your lucky you will see that the *82 is in front of there number. Delete the *82 and click save. This seemed to solve the problem for me. I spent 3 weeks talking to VZ, only to get the run-around.
