Droid X shipped with 2.2, when receiving a text video message, the sound plays but only a "broken" icon appears on the screen, no video. Anyone had this problem? Sorry if already posted!
Sounds like the Droid X does not have the codac to play the video, what format is the video....Are you using the stock player or a 3rd party player?
Stock player I assume, forgive me as I am new to the Droid X. Im not sure about the format of the message, how do I check it? I have only had the phone for 1 week and have done nothing to it besides downloading apps, and it was shipped with the 2.2 update (dont know if it makes a difference). I have had two texts so far with a video and neither has played.
Try Saving file before playing it and see what happens...
1. Go to Text Messages view, threader veiw that shows the pic preview when its not opened.
2. Press and hold on Pic
3. Select Save from the list\
4. Now the pic should be saved in SD/Messages folder
Let me know if this works for you, I just sent myself one to double check..
Check file type by browsing to SD/Messages folder and you should see video file name and at the end it will show file type... Mp4, avi, mpeg.....
