I am having issues with texting also with my Charge among other things. I just got a replacement phone and have already lost multiple messages, or have not had messages go through. The texting function is a major part of my business and this phone is not at all reliable for texting. I even left my replacement phone with no apps loaded, so the problem could not be blamed on anything but the phone.
I have also had the first phone reboot for no reason, and it would change the screen brightness to lowest for no reason. I am very unhappy with this phone.

Dear kenpc1,
There are other threads in this forum on this issue, which appears to be well-known to Verizon and hopefully Samsung. Search the forum using the word "texting" to find them.
The only solution I found was suggested by a VZW employee - a soft reset of the phone. I don't know if this is a permanent fix or just short-term. If the latter, it would be really annoying to have to do over and over, just to make texting work.

I too am having problems with receiving texts and sending texts. Most of my contacts get my texts except for a few random contacts. This is so frustrating especially when it is important. Oh yeah and the no show of missed missed calls, or the phone not even ringing is extremely frustrating as well. I can have my boyfriend send me a text, or call me with him sitting directly next to me and not receive a thing. He is also on the Verizon network. Any resolution to this would be wonderful...

kenpc1, I know this is frustrating because texting is a main use of your device and I'm sorry you dislike your device because it's an awesome phone. I will do my best to assist you with your issue. Are you able to receive text messaging? What other issues are you having with the device? This may account for your messaging issue. What area are you located in, just in case there may be an issue occurring in your area.
I would recommend some simple trouble shooting steps to resolve the messaging issues.
1) power cycle your device
2) remove the battery for 1-2 minutes to soft reset the phone
If this does not work, we will need to speak with you on an alternate phone to perform system trouble shooting, which could involve replacing the device with another charge.
