Will we all be getting or transitioning to the new 4G network?

VZW hasn't released any info as to which phones would be able to access their 4G network.

None of the current line of phones are LTE-capable.  I'm guessing they'll have LTE and their CDMA network going simultaneously so you'll still be running on their EVDO network.

I've wrote about it before, but the 4G service will be backwards compatible with the 3G phones.  Meaning: 3G phones will function just as they always have, they might even see increased data speeds (rumored).  Verizon's LTE is more of a business model than an actual service like 4G.

For the air cards (1 available at launch on 12/5 and another soon after), it'll be $50 for 5GB and $80 for 10GB of data. Handsets won't be available until mid-2011.  5-12Mbps is nice but it still isn't true 4G which has to be >100Mbps.  Full press release @ http://www.droid-life.com/2010/12/01/verizon-4g-lte-press-release/

PJNC284 is correct!
this is for air cards to be used with your laptops.
looks kind of expensive if you ask me! And if you don't ask me, it is still expensive!

It's slightly cheaper than the current 3G aircards ($59.99 for 5 GB).
