Does Verizon have any updates regarding this issue yet?

My phone started rebooting itself a couple of days ago. So far it's been 3 reboots in 2 days. I had full connection when it happened.

Also getting a few reboots here and there.   Trying the turning off of data / roaming options in wireless networks.

Each time it's rebooted i've been in very low signal strength area's.  But really i'm in cleveland and have yet to get a GOOD signal.

I wonder if something is up with it's built in antenna at this point.

At this time there is not a resolution nor a temporarily work around.  The issue is still being investigating by  our Verizon Wireless and our Network Performing team.  I would like to apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones, not one reboot yet and had mine just over a week.

I do get pretty good signal strength throughout my city though

I've had my Incredible since launch on a pre-order.  Only until the last two weeks did I start noticing random reboots.  They have become more frequent over the last few days.  I've even had occasions where it would just shut down altogether.  I tried uninstalling previously downloaded Apps without any change.  I placed a call with HTC this morning and they notified me that they are aware of a problem and are looking into it.  I don't know about the rest of you but HTC needs to get a fix for this quickly or they are going to lose their fanbase just as soon as they get them. HTC Incredible?  I will reserve judegment as far as if the name fits until a later date.

I live in the country (Upstate NY) and haven't had 1 single reboot since I got the phone on pre-order and I'm averaging 1 bar at home. I'm not even sure an app can cause the phone to reboot or crash as the main kernal is protected from the application "processes".

Yes, you can have an app kill your battery or even make it run dog slow, but a hard crash.... I'm not really sure that's easily possible.

Kenyu...consider yourself lucky as there are far more people having problems with reboots than not. I just hope that HTC or Verizon can isolate what is causing it and fix it or I'm going back to Blackberry.

Actually, i'm not one of the lucky few. Most people who visit forums and post are statistically the ones with issues and bad experiences. 99% of device owners who don't have problems never post how happy they are with their service. Only Verizon/HTC know the real numbers based on returns and support tickets.

Unless you have key insider numbers, none of us really know the whole extent to the issue. It may be a bad batch of phones or it may be towers that need to be updated across parts of the country.

All I do know is "low signal does not mean reboots". It's already been identified that some towers (in some shape or form) were/are the cause for the greater portion of reboots across the Mid-Atlantic areas.

Does that help you, probably not.. but lets be fair and not speculate too much on what the issues are :smileywink:

Search through the forums, there are ALOT of suggestions for users like yourself. You may just need to do a hard reset.

Not arguing with you on the statistics Kenyu, just simply stating that I am indeed one of the people who suffers with  a rebooting problem.  I would imagine that this forum is for those who are experiencing reboots and not for those who have a perfectly functioning phone.  This will probably end up being a quality control issue which seems to plague every phone manufacturer as I have yet to find a perfect phone in my 20 plus years of cell phone usage.  My ten plus years of Blackberry usage is a testament to that. I do however, expect HTC to find a quick solution for those of us who spent a lot of money on a phone expecting it to be second coming of the iPhone.  Lofty expectations? Perhaps, but it what consumers should expect. I'm happy that you have a defect free phone and hope that a quick fix is imminent so the rest of us can enjoy a cutting edge phone for years to come.  Thanks for your imput.

I don't know about the vast majority of incredible users, but me and a colleague that I work with both have the incredible, and both are having our phones reboot when we have meetings in the building where the signal strength is very low. It is rather annoying to feel the buzz, pull the phone out of my pocket to read the message, and find that it is restarting. And I get to do this several times an hour in some conference rooms.

When I am at home, it has yet to reboot. The signal strength there is good. Of course the signal strength thing could be a coincidence, but continual occurrence of this problem in a particular location, with two separate phones is not.

Anyway, the HTC incredible is clearly faulty, or at least the 2 that I have seen. I regret switching to this phone from my previous Tmobile G1.
