I have been with AT&T for ten plus years now. I am getting no respect as a loyal customer. Is switching to Verizon the way to go or should I stay with this Saddam Hussien type run AT&T?

Well, I just switched back to VZW from AT&T. I never had bad customer service from AT&T but then again I never had a need to call in. I was with VZW for about 10-12 years prior before switching to AT&T. I didn't switch to AT&T because VZW's customer service sucked ...it was just that they had a shiny new toy at the time - the iPhone 3G.
Another example, my Mom was with Sprint and she complained about crappy customer service while at the sametime a friend of mine has been with Sprint for years and sings praises about their customer service ...go figure. You may have just gotten the employees at AT&T making minimum wage or barely above who could not really give a flip about your happiness ...they are just working for their paycheck without caring about the job or AT&T. So, I say all of that to say this ...you could run into the same thing with VZW ...I never have but you may get ahold of the same type of personnel as you did with AT&T at some point in time.
Just a little food for thought.

Thanks dude. It just seems that you need to be a VIP to get good service through AT&T. Another thing is the I phone b/s.
I'm thinking the DroidX may be may best bet. Sometimes we need a change.

there's a learning curve going form an iphone to a droid, but you should check one out. they really are insane! been with vzn for 10 years with no complaints. i need coverage and there is no arguing that they have the best. i "believe" they also rate higher in curtomer support than the others?

VIP lol. I was with AT&T from 2004 to 2006. Then after being treated as a customer that didn't matter, I left AT&T for good and never looked back. I think you should indeed try out Verizon. The move could be the best thing you ever did! You do have 30 days to try out the service with Verizon. If it does not suit you just cancel within 30 days

I don't think it matters what company you pick most really could careless if a costumer leaves or stays they figure lose one gain one. It's really sad but that's just the way it is now with corporations running the county.

Actually from my previous experiance with AT&T I came to conclusion that even if you carry a VIP card with the company they simply didnt seem to care less about what kind of service they previde, I had service with them a little ways back and I religiosly over payed my bill but evertime I ran into a reception issue the CS had a habit of always suggest that I consider another company instead of tring to resolve my issue.... {word filter avoidance}!!!
I could not believe how they would treat a die hard paying customer...... Neeedless to say this is how Verizon came in play and so far in a nut shell I am happy, but on the same note I agree that no company is perfect and you can run into issues with any of them depending on the CS rep you will get to help you..
In my opion the customer service isnt perfect but the reception in my area makes my time with Verizon worth it for now.. Quality will always be a per user situation... And as a Droid X user I believe you will enjoy the device, good luck on coming to decision.

I can tell you that verizon cares nothing about their customers and will hang you out to dry once the first 30 days is up! I know nothing of AT&T. However Verizon is not the answer!!!
