To All Droid1 Experts

I am “using” my 4th Droid1.  Among many problems, the first phone would not hold a charge.  The second phone would freeze, make a call while listening to vm's and screen timeout would change.  The third arrived with a broken slider.  The fourth touch screen will not work much of the time, phone freezes or screen goes dark.  Please don’t tell me that I am **bleep**, unable to figure out the phone or any of the other rude, condescending comments I see on these posts.  I come here looking for help and get tired of reading though a lot of thoughtless comments looking for answers.  To those of you who are “experts” with the Droid, please try to help people instead of tearing them down.

Thank you for the suggestion.  With 4 phones, I have been to the store many times.  Most of the time the solution has been a factory reset or new phone because they could not fix the problem(s).  A very few problems were my fault but most of the problems were a hardware/software issue.  The tech support  (in store and phone) people are really nice; they just don't know how to fix the issues.  It is interesting that I have been told I am the" only one" having a certain problem and I see from the comments here that is not true!   All phones can have some glitches but the issues with the Droid1 are beyond reasonable.

this happened to one of the gusy I worked with, he kept making them replace it until he got one that worked. Sorry you are having such bad luck, it really is a great phone when it works. Hang in there, good luck. :smileyhappy:

Sometimes you'll get better results if you call IN to tech support instead of visiting the store.

I usually read things directed towards the general public... I have yet to see somone rip into someone else for being "**bleep**."

I have seen several comments referring to the person asking for help as being the same as "{word filter avoidance}
."  Apparently this website editing/spell checker doesn't like that word and changed it to "bleep."  I am not, nor do I want to be, a know-everything -about the Droid person.  I just want to phone to do what it is advertised to do - and what I paid for - most of the time.

Well, being ignorant is different than {word filter avoidance}

Some people just don't know and are incapable of learning. I know there are tons of people that actually like to help.

Those are just some of the people that help a lot without being rude.

I generally call the tech guys first. They can let the store know I'm coming, works best that way.

I wasn't going to reply but had to land the kudos. :smileyhappy:

In Vegas the store reps are very un-knowledgeable and have actually told me my best bet to get a new phone is pay  the early termination fee and that I should probably switch carriers ( that was with the manager right there). Now I call tech support and they have never failed to fix, replace or find a solution that is satisfactory for me. So call tech support they are much better than the folks in store imo.

It's hit or miss with store reps. To some it is just a paycheck.

The reps I got last I would give an 8.

They knew enough to get by, and they were nice.
