I am really having a tough time figuring out how to get my contacts from my old phone to the Incredible.
Backup assistant is not an option as my old phone was from Alltel.
The backup assistant from Alltel does not work as I have a Verizon number.
I have read about sending your Outlook contacts to Gmail and syncing there, but I do not want those contacts, I really want my numbers from my phone. They backed up on my storage card, but I have not found anything on the the phone to view files on the storage card.
Thanks everyone!

Did you try installing the Verizon version? Take a look at importing numbers to Droid.

That option is not available to me as I have an Alltel plan.

Just an update, I am unable to use Alltel Backup because the TouchPro was not supported.
I also want to bring my ringtones over from teh storage card which are found via music, however wwhen wanting to assign them to certain contacts, they are not to be found.

You may have to wait until HTC gets a version of HTC Sync for the Incrediable like they have for the Eris:

GMail may be your best bet. I was lucky i guess because all of my contacts are stored on the Exchnage server at work, so I just synced them right back up on the Incrediable when I got it.

I have HTC sync. When I plugged my phone into my puter, the phone showed a Sync option and in one of the phones folders is the file. It loaded just fine. However it wants to sync my puters outlook contacts to my phone. Which I really dont need.
The four options are, Sync, one was to make my SD card into a USB hub, one to set up tethering, and charge only.

Have you talked to anyone at a Verizon Wireless Store? I would avoid authorized retailers as they will be less inclined to help. Maybe they can find a way to retrieve your contacts. It's worth a shot if you haven't tried that yet.

I may have to try that, though none are really nearby.

OK, I have now exported my contacts to Gmail via a csv extension. I now have that on my SD card. I attempted to import the contacts and I get an error saying they are not in a Vcard format. ARRRGGGGHHHH

This weekend, backup assistant showed up for the first time and it was a piece of cake to get them synced up!
Thanks everyone for your ideas and suggestions.

As far as the ringtones are concerned, I haven't figured that out yet
However, I >WAS< able to get the phone to copy ALL of my contacts very easily. Setup your Touch Pro to use the GMail account your new Android device is using. Tell it to sync contacts. I did this between my Touch Pro 2 and my new HTC Incredible. The Incredible already had the GMail account setup, and so I just set ActiveSync on my Touch Pro 2 to use GMail, told it to sync contacts, and voila - all my contacts were there, and within less then a minute they were already on my phone without having to even push a button on the Incredible. It was amazing! Good Luck!
