The E911 can't be turned off but I think I need that one. I hope this helps my battery life. I will know in a day or two. I have a navigator in my car so I don't think I need these unless I am in someone else's car.
FYI, simply having the GPS turned on does not use the battery. It sits in the background waiting for a request to be used. When used,, you will see a satellite dish with outward green lines.

Press the plus sign on the bottom of the phone screen. Select HTC Widget. Scroll down to Settings and select it. Then select GPS. This will create a GPS widget on your home screen.
Once the widget is on the home screen press/click it to turn off the GPS.
I think you can also go through Settings >Location > uncheck GPS and turn it off there.
hope this helps.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
