How do I get rid of Madden NFL 11 application and icon?

When I try to enter a new event in my calendar, I keep getting a message that my calendar needs to be synced.   Synced with what?

Thanks and sorry for being "stupid"!

Verizon does not allow you to remove the Madden NFL 11 app from your phone. You can remove the icon from your home screens, but it will remain in your app tray.

As to the calendar, for it to sync, I believe that you 1st have to have set up Google Calendar online. I may be wrong about this, though, as I already had mine set up before I got my phone. Just go online to google/gmail and click on calendar. It will walk you through the setup process. After you have done this, from your home page hit menu > Accounts > gmail > then make sure that the calendar option is checked.

Not being able to remove useless apps and icons is not acceptable to me.  There has to be a way to at least uninstall and/or hide the icon.

The only place that you cannot remove the icon from is your APP tray, which somewhat hides the icon. Your app tray is the screen that pops up when you hit the little triangle inside a circle at the bottom of your HOME screen. If the icon is on your home screen or any of the other screens that you get by swiping left or right with your finger, you can just touch and hold down on the icon. The icon will turn green and a little trash can will appear at the bottom of your screen. Just drag it into the trash can(it will turn red) and let go. It is now gone from that screen!

If you want to hide (not delete since you can not) all the worthless icons in the Apps Drawer, download Loader Pro. Once you have it set up tap on the Menu key, than Preferences>General Settings>Hidden Apps. Now just check off all the apps you don't want their icons in the tray.

You can install certain apps that handle your home screen/app drawer and will allow you to hide apps that you can't uninstall.

Many people like an app called "LauncherPro" from Federico Carnales for this reason.

Ummm... mortb, don't you mean Launcher Pro. A search of revealed no such application called Loader Pro. Just asking...

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
