USB Connection

My Windows XP cannot install the USB Driver for my Droid Bionic. When I plug in, it looks for the INF, but then I get following message:

“An error occurred during the installation of thedevice. A service installation section in this INF is invalid”

It connects to my laptop running Windows 7 just fine.

Under Device Manger follow these instructions..

1.) Right-click the yellow "!" and choose "update driver".
2.) When given the option to connect to Windows Update, choose "no, not this time" and click next.
3.) Choose "Install from a specific location (advanced)" and click next.
4.) Choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click next.
5.) Click the "Have Disk" button. Browse to C:\Windows\inf and choose the file marked "wpdmtp.inf"

Thanks. I followed your suggestion up to the point of browsing C;:Windows\inf. I didn't have such a folder, but did a search and found it under a different folder. Your suggestion then worked. Thanks again.

Good to here, by the way forgot to point out it would have been hidden.

Glad you up and going...
